PhRO 1 joins “Ehersisyong Pangkalusugan Para sa Lahat 2011”

PhilHealth Regional Office 1 (PhRO 1) joined DOH’s nationwide fitness event dubbed “Ehersisyong Pangkalusugan para sa Lahat 2011” on May 15, 2011, in San Juan, La Union through a “Hataw Exericse” and Shoreline Clean-up.  This fitness event promotes having a healthy lifestyle through physical activities like biking, dancing, running, stretching and other activities in order to prevent threatening diseases such as heart disease, respiratory disease, diabetes and others.


During the short program, Jesus Aquino, Brgy. Captain, Ili Norte, San Juan, La Union, enthusiastically welcomed the participants from PhRO 1 as well as from the DOH Region 1.  Afterward, Dr. Jimuel Cardenas, OIC-Director III, DOH-CHD1  and Elvira C. Ver, Regional Vice President, PhRO1 imparted  messages supporting the said program.

The “Hataw Exercise” led by DOH Region 1 employees immediately ensued the brief program wherein a 3-minute warm-up exercises were performed followed by a 20-minute non-stop dance exercises. Subsequent to the dance exercises, the participants set off to the sun-drenched shoreline of San Juan, La Union in which a clean-up was performed.

Soon after the clean-up, Ernesto V. Beltran, SVP for Actuarial Services, PhilHealth, also gave a brief message thanking for a warm welcome from OIC-Director Cardenas and RVP Ver.  As a final point,   OIC-Director Cardenas mentioned how grateful he is for the support every participant had shown.

It’s like being on pins and needles at first but bearing in mind the healthful benefits of exercises and in keeping the environment clean, definitely, it is worthwhile that we make these activities day by day as a part of our modified healthy lifestyle.
