PhRO 1 successfully conducts PhilHealth Sabado II

PhilHealth Regional Office 1 (PhRO 1) has successfully conducted the second part of Nationwide PhilHealth Registration Day dubbed as “PhilHealth Sabado Part II” throughout Region 1 last June 25, 2011.  The event was held in seven (7) sites specifically at the following :

During the event, 1,279 filipinos were enrolled as new members, collected premium contributions of about P96,800 and distributed 16,668 Family Health Cards (FHCs) to the identified National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) list of recipients.  Also, more than 10,000 clients were informed and educated regarding their benefits, rights and responsibilities during the information and education campaign (IEC) despite the foul weather.

The Nationwide PhilHealth Registration Day dubbed as “PhilHealth Sabado, Magseguro, Magparehistro,” is a continuing advocacy program to attain universal coverage, to increase awareness and knowledge of every Filipino on the importance of becoming a PhilHealth member that will ensure access to an affordable and accessible quality health care.

Suspension of the Implementation of the Nine (9) Months Contribution in Benefits Availment

PhilHealth Circular No. 09 series 2011 has been issued to suspend the implementation of the PhilHealth Circular No. 25 series 2010. This deferment shall be in effect until the issuance by the PhilHealth Board of the appropriate policy relative to the requirement of "sufficient regularity" as basis for entitlement of benefits.

PhilHealth Sabado Part II on June 25, 2011

June 25, 2011 is designated as the Second Nationwide PhilHealth Registration Day. PhilHealth Regional Office 1 (PhRO 1) will be conducting the event at seven selected sites at the following municipalities:
·         Bacarra, Ilocos Norte
·         Magsingal, Ilocos Sur
·         Aringay, La Union
·         Urdaneta City, Pangasinan
·         Lingayen, Pangasinan
·         Dagupan City
·         San Carlos City, Pangasinan

The main objective of this activity is to ensure that eligible family members of public school students especially those classified as indigents should enroll and take advantage of PhilHealth benefits.  This also aims to encourage other eligible individuals to register in the Individually-Paying Program (IPP), to educate members about the benefits, rights and responsibilities of being a member and to enjoin partners in mobilizing resources and ensuring universal health care coverage.

Department of Health (DOH) will spearhead the event and will be participated by other government agencies such as PhilHealth, Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD),  Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and  Leagues of Provinces, Cities, Municipalities and Barangays. It can be recalled that through the collective efforts of the above-mentioned agencies, PhilHealth Sabado kick-off activity had been successfully conducted last October 2, 2010.

Eligible family members of public school pupils, PhilHealth Non-Members, Government and non-government stakeholders are invited to attend the said activity to gain access to an affordable and accessible quality health care for all Filipinos.

PhRO 1-ITMS conducts Orientation for IT Designates

Due to the expansion of operations and deployment of systems in the PhRO and Service Offices level, competent personnel were appointed as IT designates.  To equip them with added skills on information technology, on June 2-3, 2011, an orientation and workshop intended for them was held and spearheaded by Mr. Luisito O. Santos, Information Technology Management Section (ITMS) Head.

On the first day, the participants were trained on how to properly perform hardware maintenance and simple troubleshooting, printer installation and network troubleshooting. The participants experienced hands-on/actual performance of said topics.

Elvira C.  Ver, Regional Vice President, imparted an inspirational message on the second day.  She highlighted that “hindi ninyo kailangang sabihin kung ano ang nagawa ninyo dahil balang araw  malalaman din na kayo ang talagang gumawa  at kung ano ang mga nagawa ninyo.” She also added that the IT Designates will be of great help especially for the forthcoming replication of the PhilHealth Sabado on June 25, 2011.

Updates in the field of information and communication technology and an open forum was also held on the second day.  Awarding of certificates of participation to the participants concluded the two-day IT orientation for IT designates.
